Am Thong – The valley on the top of mountain
Bang Am, also known as Am Thong or Tung Son, is a 830m high karst mountain range located in Dai Hong, Dai Loc and Quang Nam communes, about 46km from Da Nang center.
Due to the high mountains, steep cliffs, and steep trails, it will take you about 3 hours to climb the mountain and more than an hour to descend.
The top of the mountain is a beautiful valley based on three small hills with four streams, including Lim, Hoc, Hung and Do. The temperature is always lower than the foot of the mountain at 5-7 degrees Celsius and high humidity, so there are many species of orchids, orchids and ferns growing. Sim and broom are two common species. Everyday people still climb to the top to cut brooms for sale. By the time the Sim season is ripe, you can make a feast around a few bushy Sim bushes.
Formerly there were a lot of pine so it was called Am Thong or Tung Son. Due to the war and people exploited, only two old pine trees were left on the cliff.
The cliff has the head of a person looking as he is looking at somewhere in the blue sky.
This used to be a cultivation retreat of famous heroes and hermits with many monuments and anecdotes. Currently there is a small temple worshiping Buddha, the Quan Yin Bodhisattva statue.
